Why did i get into Gym Cross Training?
I was Fitness Manager of Fitness First and supported the Fit Brit, by taking part. I have got better in the past three years of competing and only missed out on winning by 14 seconds. So I thought, I'd start taking it a little more serious and try some more Gym Cross Training Challenges.
Why world gym challenge?
I like the idea of using the same test each time. Its great for consistency and allows you to test your current fitness levels.
Proudest achievement:
Climbing Killimanjaro in June 2010 and raising £5,000 for charity
Sporting achievements :
Representing Wales at Under 18's level in Football
Representing Cardiff City
5 years of Football in Conference South with Newport County
2nd in Fit Brit 2010
Fav food:
Peanut Butter
Favourite restaurant:
Nando's - I have a whole chicken, wraps, salad, corn on the cob and spicy rice alll to myself!!!
Training:
I take two spin classes per week at the gym and also have football twice a week, with training and matches. I try to fit one cardio session in to my week at the gym and also perform two weights sessions. In preparation for the World Gym Challenge, I will combine Cardiovascular training and weights to prepare my body for the event.
Quotes:
''Train Hard and Win Easy!!''
'You've gotta get out of bed with determination, to go to bed with satisfaction''.
Fav film:
Braveheart
What advice would you give to anyone who is thinking about trying world gym challenge:
Get yourself into the best possible physical shape and give it a go. Winning is great, but for me initially it was just the taking part that was important. A few events on and hopefully I will be up there with the big guns!!!
