Introduction By WGC

The very first competitor for Gymxtc is Steve Broadley. Probably No fitting athlete is more appropriate to attempt this course. He and people like him are the reason this website was created. Those that like to challenge themselves, those that want the motivation to train and those that achieve - no matter what level or what time.

It is an absolute pleasure getting to know Steve and I wish every success in any event he competes in.

Steve, the first person ever to complete Gymxtc – what are your thoughts on it?

Yeah, excellent Challenge. I really enjoyed it. I was hoping to a little bit quicker, as I have done an 18: 25 in training, but it’s all about what you do on the day. So hopefully next time I will beat my personal best.

How is your training in the gym? Do you think Gymxtc is motivating you?

Yes, very much so – definitely. My main focus now for training in the gym is X Training and the events leading up to it. It’s great training for each event and like I said keeps me motivated.

Knuckling down to some hard work on the bile.

Who do you look up to in the sport?

My main training influence at the moment is Ben Stroud, he is local to me and I used to work with him but we lost contact a few years ago, but then we bumped into each other at last years Hampshire X Mas Cracker and after met up with him again where we have trained s few times. He’s really helped me with my training and helped keep  focused.

At the Hampshire too (which was my first event) I was impressed with Sam’s time (Sam Orgee) and Jason’s time (Jason King)

 Still focused and halfway round.
Being new to the sport have you heard of Hywel ?

Yes, being new to the sport I have heard of him. He is a living legend and I hope he comes back to the sport; just to see him compete would be really exciting.

Father and Son - a very proud Dad watched and supported his son throughout.
